How to care for your Farm Fresh Christmas Tree

Always cut an inch off the base of the tree before placing it in a stand filled with warm water. Choose a stand that holds at least 4 liters, as the tree will keep absorbing water. Check the water level in the morning and afternoon to ensure the trunk stays submerged; if it drops below the cut even briefly, the trunk will seal and stop drinking water, requiring another 1-inch cut to remove dried sap. Keep the tree away from sunny windows and heat sources to prevent drying out. With proper care, your real Christmas tree should last the entire festive season. If you’re not setting it up right away, store it in a cool, shaded spot in a bucket of water. A tree preservative can help with water absorption and needle retention. Never use sand or soil.

Tree Stands and tree preservative are available for purchase directly from our farm.
